I got both his Big Ass books and like both of them. If you only have budget for one, I recommend this one. Lots of ideas and lots of fun.

Mark is a genious, and a great writer. AT times silly and playful, and at other times just plain encouraging, he makes reading his book fun even if you don’t have time to create any of the projects. I own both of his books (Big Ass Book of Crafts and this one) and haven’t made a single project from either of them…. YET. But, that doesn’t stop me from reading them over and over again, and getting inspiration in other ways. I’m planning a day to go out garage-sale surfing and see what treasures I can come back with to alter and modify Mark Montano style!
In addition to have some great projects, his materials are easy to find, and the instructions are clear and concise. And, if you have questions? Just find this adorable man on Facebook and he’ll talk to you personally to answer you. All celebrities should be this approachable and appreciative of their fans.

So, this book had me at the title alone! This is a BIG ASS BOOK of fabulous ideas that dont cost a fortune! Most of them can be made with materials you have or can find at the dollar store. I love Mark’s creativity and his detailed explanations of the crafts. He lets you be the master of your own home decor. This book gave me the initiative to actually make things again. I haven’t been inspired to do that for 20+ years! What a feeling! Cant wait for the next one:)

Ok, I have always loved crafts, from scrapbooking to crochet to painting (or attempting to), but no book EVER that I have purchased for ideas or inspiration has EVER had the kind of projects that to me were not only totally FABULOUS in their look but also, and most importantly to me, actually “do-able” for the average person. I mean there are tons of “How to” books out there but you seriously need an art degree or a friend who is a carpenter to figure out how to actually make something, well anything that you would show to your friends!
Mark makes sense out of things that most people would overlook in their everyday lives. I have always envied that in people and am SO HAPPY someone finally has all the ideas in a book so all I have to do is copy! Copy and improvise because this book makes my creative juices start to flow just looking through it. I started wondering what other things that I normally overlook could become something useful or fun in my home. Mark is the magician, this is just his book of magic tricks and the secrets behind them. FABULOUS!
If you love to create unique, gorgeous things (with some fun, silly things thrown in) for your home, not to mention just reading the book is fun because of Mark’s great sense of humor which had me laughing way more than once, you have to get this and ALL of Mark’s books. He is the best that I have seen so far, and I have been looking a long time! Happy crafting!
